Maafushi, Kaafu Atoll Maldives

Maafushi (Dhivehi: ??????) is one of the inhabited islands of Kaafu Atoll. It was heavily damaged in the 2004 tsunami which impacted on over 100,000 of the Maldives 300,000 population. The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, supported by the Irish and American Red Cross Socieites, began work on a mains sewage system on August 10, 2006. The International Federation has also funded the building of homes for those who lost theirs during the tsunami. Both schemes are carried out in partnership with commercial contractors and with the support and involvement of the local community.
Maafushi Prison is located on this island.

Time to go fishing, Maldivian style

Time to go fishing, Maldivian style, originally uploaded by nattu.

“A fishing pole is a stick with a hook at one end and a fool on the other”

“Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing it is not fish they are after.”

“Caution is a most valuable asset in fishing, especially if you are the fish.”

“There’s a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot.”

“Fishing is boring, unless you catch an actual fish, and then it is disgusting.”

I know the pic seems a bit over exposed. the sky.. but its underexposed for the shadow’s. The hardest thing in photography is to balance the light yeh?.. or is it something else? Sometimes too many things on your way. When capturing the moment. Too little time or too little space..
